It’s been a while since I have written here, and I have also decided to change domain names. First order of business is I have switched the jrcook.net domain name to jrcook.dev (although jrcook.net still redirects here). The reason for this is because I have decided moving forward, this will purely be my technical blog home.
All of my gaming related blog posts will continue over on either of my other sites, BlizzPro.com (for Blizzard Entertainment related content) or YetiArcade.com (for everything else entertainment related).
I’ve been wanting to write technical blog posts for a while now, and only really have one here with using DB2 and Dapper. That post has actually been pretty successful, but I have never really felt confident with writing about technical things. I need to end that now because I have a lot of stuff I need to share about things I have learned over my career.
The biggest part of getting started is by getting a backlog of posts. Today I started putting together a list of 8 blog topics and I plan on releasing 1-2 blog posts a week for as long as I have new topics to talk about. My first “series” will be regarding Azure DevOps as I have been fully engaged in that whole suite of boards, repositories, builds, and release pipelines for the last 3 months now.
My first post will be about branching strategies and how I have moved to starting to use a trunk based branching strategy in GIT. I hope to have that out here in the next couple days.
If you have any topics you would like me to maybe talk about when it comes to Azure DevOps, .NET Core 2.X, or even development practices with helping lead a team, just let me know in the comments!
